Foreword by the Mayor of Waregem

As mayor of our City of the Horse, it is a great honor for me to welcome you to Quadrille, an international para dressage competition that has been a longstanding tradition in Waregem. This edition is particularly festive as we celebrate 45 years of Quadrille, 30 years of para organization – a premiere in our country – and 20 years of recognition of para dressage as an official discipline within international equestrian sport. These milestones reflect vision, perseverance, and a deeply rooted passion for inclusive sport.

Waregem proudly carries its title as City of the Horse. Throughout the year, we promote a wide range of equestrian disciplines and support initiatives that make horse sport accessible to everyone. Quadrille embodies this ambition like no other event. With an international field of around fifty riders from various countries, our city once again becomes the stage for top-level sport, driven by talent, dedication, and mutual respect between rider and horse.

This competition impressively demonstrates what sport is truly about: creating opportunities, pushing boundaries, and bringing people together. The riders’ performances are not only of a high sporting level but also inspiring for everyone who believes in the power of inclusion. It is heartwarming to see how, here in Waregem, sport and connection go hand in hand.

My sincere thanks go to the organizers of Quadrille, who deliver this event year after year with great professionalism and commitment. I would also like to extend special thanks to the many volunteers. Your efforts, often behind the scenes, make this international event possible and ensure everything runs smoothly down to the smallest detail. Without you, this would not be the same.

I wish all participants the best of success, the spectators an unforgettable experience, and everyone an inspiring and unifying event.

Welcome home, in Waregem, City of the Horse.

Mayor of Waregem Kristof Chanterie
