Quadrille, the annual international parade dressage event in Waregem, is back in the starting blocks. Equestrian Flanders is proud to support this unique event again this year.

Organising an international paradise dressage competition in Flemish Waregem is a milestone for equestrian sport. This event provides a platform where athletes with disabilities can demonstrate their skills at the highest level. Here we see the result of perseverance, and of intense cooperation between man and horse. Over the past four years, between 2019 and 2023, we have seen remarkable growth in both dressage and paradise dressage. The number of participants in national dressage competitions has increased by as much as 30 per cent, reflecting the increasing interest and commitment to this discipline. Moreover, the number of national dressage competitions has also increased significantly, providing more opportunities for riders of all levels to participate and excel.

Inclusion of paradressage in the workings of our organisations is essential. It highlights the recognition of paradressage as an integral part of equestrian sport, and encourages an environment where riders are given equal opportunities to shine. The dedication of our federations, with a Team Manager in charge of both dressage and paradise, shows the commitment to creating a platform where all riders, regardless of background, are supported and encouraged.Quadrille not only provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of these paradise athletes, but also a unique opportunity to spread equestrian sport to a wider audience. It inspires young riders, and encourages involvement among those who love our beautiful sport. As we look forward to the performance of our Belgian paradise dressage team at the Olympic Games in Paris, let’s enjoy this event equally to encourage our paradise athletes. Our special thanks go to the club Quadrille for making this event possible.
