It was created by a circle of friends who wished to organize competitions that combined quality with warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
After my visit to the Paralympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, the club became convinced that para equestrian sport had its rightful place in Belgium, and devoted itself to supporting its development.
Over the years, the club has organized several landmark events :
- The 2003 World Championships, which for the first time welcomed riders competing with their own horses,
- The First « FEI Pas de Deux Challenge » in 2006,
- The 2006 qualifying competition for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing/Hong Kong
- And the 2011 European Championship
Quadrille can be proud to have contributed to the recognition of para-equestrian as the 8th discipline of the FEI in 2006, and this year we are celebrating the 10th edition.+
We are delight to welcome you and would like to express our sincere thanks to all the volunteers who have helped us make these wonderful competitions possible.
Over the past 45 years, everything that has been accomplished has been made possible through the unwavering commitment of our many partners. Some have stood by us from the very beginning, including the National Lottery and the D’Ieteren Group, notably through AUDI and Top Motors.We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to the volunteers, officials, riders, and their dedicated support teams, whose contributions have been invaluable.Since our marriage in 1985, the City of Waregem has played a vital role, contributing significantly to the promotion of horses and all equestrian disciplines, both within Belgium and internationally.We are equally grateful to Sport Vlaanderen for its continued support over the years, both financially and through the outstanding quality of the facilities it has made available to us.
We would also like to thank Waregem Horse Club, its members, the Société de Trot, as well as Barbotte for their valuable support in making this special edition a success.
But none of this would be possible without thanking the main actors — the riders who motivate us to organize year after year. It is for you that everyone around the Quadrille comes together to make this competition possible !
